Cane Toads LMS ready for action

The Yarrabilba Cane Toads LMS team – proudly sponsored by Alan Kuss from All Properties Group – returned to the training field last weekend, over a month since notching their first win of the season against The Trouble Makers in the LMS Beaudesert Division 2 contest at Glenlogan Park on the 29th of November 2020.

A muck around hit between the team, and some family & friends who were in the area, helped the side – who at times struggle to get the team numbers to fill an entire side – work off some of the Christmas snacking that may have horizontally hampered them on the resumption of the Last Man Stands competition this weekend.

It was the first time the players had bowled or batted against each other, and at the end of the longer match – due to additional drinks breaks in the heat – the bonding experience is what skipper Callum Whiting hopes will bring the Cane Toads LMS side together for a strong second half of the season.

The Cane Toads LMS side currently sit sixth on the Last Man Stands – Beaudesert Division two standings and are hoping for improved results in the second half of the season in an attempt to sneak into Finals contention. The Division 2 competition see’s two new teams join post-Christmas with Flaggy Baggies and Window Lickers both joining the competition over the Christmas and New Year period.

The second part of the season begins on the 10th of January with the Yarrabilba Cane Toads playing a double header at James Smith Reserve on Teviot Road in Greenbank. The first of their two matches starting at 10:15am against Middle Stumped being immediately followed by a match against the Test Eagles.

It will be a tough resumption for the Cane Toads LMS squad with both sides sitting atop the divisional table, the Test Eagles currently in first with 57 points from 6-wins, one loss and a draw. While Middle Stumped are in second on 48 points with five wins, a loss and a draw.
