The Yarrabilba Cricket Association (‘YCA’) have begun to turn their attention towards the junior programs we are able to offer, after a trip to Redlands Cricket Club inspired the Executive Committee of what a longstanding successful club looks like.
Over the past twelve-months we have built the Yarrabilba Cane Toads brand from nothing, over 50 players have pulled on the Cane Toads shirt and the Cane Toads brand will remain the moniker for our senior cricket set up.
We have however listened to the local community, with feedback about the Cane Toad not being appealing towards the younger participant age bracket – which is why the Yarrabilba Cricket Association are proud to introduce our new junior moniker (playing name) we will be known as the Yarrabilbys.
2022 will see a number of junior programs operated throughout Yarrabilba, these will include basic introduction to cricket programs, through to a more advanced program that encourages those in the higher age bracket to continue to develop their cricketing skills.
These are known as the Junior and Master Blaster programs which are nationally sponsored by Woolworths.
Schools will also be invited to participate, with our assistance, in the Cricket Australia Health & Physical Education program while a number of holiday programs revolving around the great game of cricket are currently being planned.
Our junior teams entering competitions will be known as the Yarrabilbys with the hope of the players to progress to eventually become a Cane Toad.
