Leap into 22 with the Cane Toads

It seems a never ending cycle. Especially with many new sports starting and attempting to establish right here in our small yet growing community of Yarrabilba.

We know from our every own experience – we bounce from our summer season straight into winter season and back. A quick browse through our local community pages shows that just weeks after Finals and Presentations were held for winter sporting codes they were already back at it advertising for you to sign up again.

And you can’t blame them! We all know Yarrabilba will be it’s very own bustling city upon its completion with up to 45,000 people calling it home, a town center and undeniably more sporting codes, community groups and not-for-profit organisations wanting you to become involved with them.

The Yarrabilba Cricket Association Incorporated was established, and continues to be a community orientated, driven and dedicated club. To ensure that we are able to provide your children with a safe, and family friendly environment we have obtained a Level 3 Accreditation with the Good Sports program where we actively promote healthy choices both on and off the field.

2022 will see the Yarrabilba Cricket Association launch a number of after school programs, we are also in discussions with local schools to get them involved in Cricket Australia’s Health and Physical Education program – offering to take this program into the schools and supporting their teachers as they deliver the programs where required.

However, 2022 will also see us attempt to obtain junior numbers to enter a side into the post-Christmas junior cricketing competition staged by the Logan District Junior Cricket Association.

While other sporting codes attempt to get all of their participants involved, usually as the season progresses there are some who stand out where coaches and fellow players start to rely on them.

With the way the Junior Club cricket is operated all players on the field get a fair turn with maximum balls allowed to be faced, and minimum overs bowled.

Parents are asked to register interest early to ensure that we have a fair indication as to whether we have the numbers required.
