So the Yarrabilba Cricket Association are looking at all possibilities of getting women involved in the great game of cricket.
We are looking for input on any and all ideas you may have as ways we can start, and how we can make the game of cricket seen as the fun game we all know it can be.
One idea being floated at the moment is to try and establish a women’s Last Man Stands side.
LMS Beaudesert already have two all-women’s sides who play the odd friendly against each other, these teams are made up of female players that are members or wives of members from other teams.
The idea being floated not only includes an LMS side – due to just needing 8 players, and that matches whenever played are over and done with within two hours making it a quickfire way to enjoy the game – but to organise training, including the possibility of a specialised coaching session or two from highly qualified coaches, to ensure everyone who is part of the side can learn the game, and have the opportunity to reach their potential with the training.
We are however always open to ideas, suggestions, thoughts – whatever you may have no matter how big or small that will help us all develop the game of cricket around our area, don’t be shy!
