Yarrabilba is a locality of Logan City in Queensland (post code 4207) in the 2016 census, Yarrabilba had a population of just 3580 however, this number has dramatically increased in the years since.
It was announced in 2010 that Yarrabilba – which in the Wangerriburra/Bundjalung language means ‘Place of song‘ – would be the location for a future city which is planned to include 20 000 dwellings which would house up to 50 000 people.
Development on the new urban precinct began in 2011 after Lend Lease was granted approval for the development of the first 93.2 hectare stage of the project.
Initial planning for a cricket club in the area began in early February 2019, which included a number of meetings with community projects, partnerships and engagement personnel acting on behalf of developer Lend Lease, obtaining support from Queensland Cricket, initiation discussions with Logan City Council and meetings to discuss strategic planning with staff from Queensland Cricket including Game Development Officers for the region.
The Yarrabilba Cricket Association has been established to bring Australia’s favourite sporting code, to one of Queensland’s fastest growing cities – Yarrabilba. With the ever continuing development of the Yarrabilba project the tight-knit community will continue to expand and having an established popular sporting code, approved programs for people of all ages and all abilities, at affordable prices would be of proven benefits to the Yarrabilba community and its immediate surrounds.

Over 1.2 million people a year play the great game of cricket right here in Australia, the Yarrabilba Cricket Association has been established with the primary aim of increasing this number – in particular focusing on the Logan-region – allowing more to experience the buzz of hitting the ball to the boundary, taking a wicket or grabbing a catch.
The Yarrabilba Cricket Association has been established to offer Australia’s favourite summer sporting code to Yarrabilba and surrounding areas. We want all cricketers to have every chance to maximising their cricketing skills and enjoy a successful career. Through the Woolworths Junior and Master Blaster programs for children, to senior sides entered in varying competitions the Yarrabilba Cricket Association are focus on laying the foundations for anyone, whether you’ve never held a bat, are desperate to get back into the game or have a passing interest, to enjoy the game of cricket.

The Yarrabilba Cricket Association are dedicated to the growth and expansion of the Women’s game, joining in Cricket Australia’s efforts to make cricket the sport of choice for girls and women.
We will endeavour to do this through the following means;
- Create a safe and comfortable environment for all participants of the Yarrabilba Cricket Association;
- Embrace and support the growth of girls and women’s cricket throughout the region, state and at International level;
- Conduct ‘girls-only’ programs, information & training sessions;
- Develop a girls-only side to participate in local cricket competitions;
- Advocate to Queensland Cricket, Logan City Council and the Logan District Cricket Association to support the launch of a Women’s Grade Competition in the region to acknowledge the sharp rise in popularity of the Women’s game in Australia;
